Kate Nash is:
Kate Nash - Piano, vocals, guitar
+ band

This is her first full lenght album
released in august 2007 on Fiction Records

She has released a couple of 7 inches on Moshi Moshi Records which all sold out

I think 700 of these were made on pink vinyl

After looking for this record for ages I finally found it in London. I wanted to buy the cd for some time but I noticed in the shops the price of this cd was going up with time passing (what the fuck)
so I just dowloaded it, hoping I would one day find a vinyl version of it ( which was even cheaper then the prizes that were once set for the cd's)

How I got into Kate Nash's music, I think like many of us, through her song 'Foundations' which was spinned a lot on almost every radiostation.

I was way excited about this song, I never really gave a shit about what is being played on radiostations espacially at that time, now I tend to get into it more often.
I've started playing her songs through her myspace a lot and eventually downloading the album.

After hearing the full album I realised it contained even beter songs than 'Foundations'.
'Mariella'- radical!
'Mouthwash'- awesome
'Nicest Thing'- I almost cried, no shit

I like the artwork of this album as well, allthough it looks very amateuristic, I think this was intentional, and very well portraited.

Kate Nash has been in Belgium and even in Ghent on several occasions but I've never seen her play though. She either played a shit festival which is seriously out of my pricerange or the venue in Ghent was sold out.

Hope to see her sometime soon, looking forward to a new album

This is the second full lenght by Liar
It was released in 1997 on Genet Records

150 made on orange vinyl
the cd-album is a re-issue, with a DVD added.

When I first got in touch with Liar, this wasn't what I heard first of them. My first hardcore show and Liar show were H8000-fest on november 12 2005, this was also the release gig for their last effort 'Murder Manifesto'. However they obviously played numerous songs of this album as well. If you don't know anything by Liar be sure to get into it, and you'll know what I'm talking about. This album rages so fucking hard, it's beyond your nicest dreams or your worst nightmare.

The first two songs, 'New Born Fire' and 'Steel Against Steel' hit you in the face with so much energy! other songs on this release like 'Invictus', 'Blade' and '2000 AD' are amongst my top Liar songs.

The lyrics deal with problems within and outside the scene, animal cruelty and how we need to change all of that, the straight edge is also a well represented theme.
All of the songs have a high sing a long content, which leads to crazy live shows filled with stagedives and singalongs.

Only minor for me about this LP is the artwork, I'm not really into it, but hey, can't have it all. Besides that it's really cool that not only the lyrics are printed but also a short explanation by the band or Hans about what this song means to them/him and/or what they are trying to tell us.

This is the ninth studio album by BS,
it was released in 1980 on Warner bros records.

I've chosen this one to be the first one to write about.
This is one of my first records I've ever bought, I bought it on a streetsale on a local fare in the spring of 2005 I think and has been a big catalyst for the changes I underwent in my life since then.

I loved it from the first spins. The fact that Ozzy isn't on this album doens't seem to bother me at all, Dio did an awesome job on this record, making it also my favorite BS record. Guitar-hero Tony Iommi rocks big time on this record, his work blows me away!

Lovely Artwork, my record didn't have a lyric sheet when I bought it though. The backcover looks great, a simple chalk pencil drawing of the four members.

Favorite songs are 'Neon Knights' and the titletrack - 'Heaven And Hell'

"The world is full of kings and queens. Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams. It's Heaven And hell!"

00. Titletrack

So with the start of a new year, I decided to put up a new blog as well.
On my first blog (http://pressrewindhitrepeat.blogspot.com) I did discuss music and records but I wanted something more than just that, so here's my blog about my favorite records and why.

As some of you might've noticed the blogname is similar to a Thrash Talk song.
The content of the song has nothing to do with this blog but I really like the name and the different features it might resemble. And it is a bad ass song/record which will be featered here within the coming weeks/months/...

The bottom line of this blog is to write about every record I really like, why I like it, what it means and what it meant to me, and the possible change that it brought to my life. Feel free to comment on my 'reviews', good or bad, recommendations of similar and other bands are most welcome

enjoy it, or not
L.
